Agape Mdumulla and Sam Cotton – commonly known as Agi and Sam, are know for their collections having such wide variety from season to season. However, in their latest offering, we saw a slight departure from their signature use of bright colors and bold prints. In their spring 2014 show they made use of the traditional African checks used by Agi’s family on their oversized coats. The highlight was their sharp tailoring, infused with some 21st century glitz facilitated by strips of reflective tape that was fused to the cuffs and seams of each piece. The whole show was understated and used a mostly monochrome colour scheme, apart from the oil logo prints on a selection of pieces.
